Small bet and big bet

In a $2/$4 limit hold'em game, the bet size is $2 on preflop and flop (small bet streets) and $4 on turn and river (big bet streets). Raises are in those increments.

There's usually a cap on how many raises can go in on a street (often four bets total: bet + three raises). You cannot jam 100 big blinds for value on the flop — the structure won't let you.

Limit Hold'em hides the cost of calling. One bet looks small; eight unnecessary calls do not. Track the sum.

Small bet / big bet streets change the tax. Calling light on big-bet streets is how 'cheap poker' becomes expensive.
