Near the money, calling off a medium stack with a flip can be much worse in $ than in chips. Shorter stacks about to bust are your friends — let them go first when the hand is marginal.

Practice aloud: 'If I call and bust, how many shorter stacks were about to die?' If the answer is 'several,' demand a stronger hand.
