Scoops pay the bills
Winning both halves is how PLO8 prints. Hands that only contest one side need a good price and a clear plan. If your buddy calls every A-high junk 'for the low,' he will get quartered into oblivion.
Live pattern: player with A2xx calls every street 'for low' on boards where high is clearly going elsewhere and another A2 is plausible. That player is your buddy if you don't stop him.
Bankroll math: winning one half at full price while chopped on the other is a slow leak even when you 'hit your hand.' Scoop-first thinking fixes the leak before fancy lines exist.
