Two halves

At showdown the pot can split: half to the best high hand, half to the best qualifying low. No qualifying low → high takes everything.

You still use exactly two hole cards and three board cards for each direction. High two and low two can be different cards from your four.

Kindergarten PLO8 reality: scooping pays. Calling full bets for chopped halves is the silent leak — even before Grade 1 math.

Two halves: high and low (when low qualifies). Playing only for one half at full price is the kindergarten leak that Grade 1 will punish with math.
