Start with three low cards

Razz is Seven Card Stud for low only. Best hand is A-2-3-4-5 (wheel). Pairs are bad. High cards are bad.

Third street: prefer three unpaired low cards (A23, A24, A25, 234…). Door card matters for steals, but hidden lows matter more for showdown.

Night-before filter: three unpaired cards to an eight-or-better low. Two low + one paint is already wounded. Three paint is trash.

'Start with three low cards' (Razz, G1): Razz: high cards and pairs are bricks. Two bricks before fifth usually means fold to heat — pretty starts don't override dead boards.
