What pot odds ask
Pot odds compare what you must call to what you stand to win right now. If the pot is $100 and it costs $25 to call, you're getting $100:$25 = 4:1. Break-even equity is about 1/(4+1) = 20% if the hand ends there.
Shortcut: required equity ≈ call / (pot + call). $25 / ($100+$25) = 20%.
Pot odds = price to call vs size of pot. Equity = how often you win. If equity clearly covers price and reverse implied odds aren't lethal, continue; else fold.
