Pairs vs draws

An open pair is strong early. A disguised pair can be stronger. A four-flush/four-straight by fifth needs respect — especially if cards are live.

Don't go broke with one pair against a board that clearly made two pair/trips or a big draw that got there.

Fifth street is where stud pots get real. Open pairs and scary boards earn bets; weak draws facing heat fold more.
