Non-nut flushes
On a monotone board, the nut flush is king. Second-nut flushes get stacked by the nut flush constantly in PLO. If your buddy can't fold the second nut flush in the right spots, hide your wallet.
Drawing to the second nut flush multiway is often −EV. Prefer draws that make the nuts.
Example: board A♠ 9♠ 2♠ 7♦ 3♣. You have K♠ Q♠ J♥ T♥ — second nut flush. Someone with the ace of spades has you crushed. Stacking here multiway is how bankrolls die.
Practice line: monotone flop, you hold bare king-high flush draw, three players. Prefer check-call or fold to heavy heat rather than raising for 'initiative.' Initiative doesn't beat the nut flush.
