A real draw spot

Pot is $50. Villain bets $25. You have a flush draw on the flop (about 9 outs). Rough flop-to-river equity with 9 outs is near 35% (rule of 4). Call is $25 into $75 total after call → need about 25%. On pure pot odds you're fine — if the money ends here.

If stacks are shallow and you only win the pot when you hit (no more money behind), that calculation is cleaner. If stacks are deep, implied odds can help — or reverse implied odds can hurt when you hit the second nut and pay off the nuts.

Write it on a napkin before you call: call amount / (pot + call). That fraction is the break-even share if the betting ends. Then estimate your equity. If equity clearly covers price and reverse implied odds aren't catastrophic, call. If not, fold. No vibes.
