8-or-better low

A qualifying low must be five unpaired cards all 8 or lower (A-8). Wheel A-2-3-4-5 is the best low (and can also be a high straight).

If no low qualifies, high wins the whole pot. That's critical: late streets can eliminate lows and turn 'half pot' hands into high-only battles.

'8-or-better low' (stud hi-lo, G0): Stud hi-lo: scooping and freerolling beat split-hope. Qualifying lows matter — know whether an 8-low qualifies in your game.
