'Third street selection' (stud hi-lo, G0): Stud hi-lo: scooping and freerolling beat split-hope. Qualifying lows matter — know whether an 8-low qualifies in your game.

Start with hands that have two-way potential or strong high. Three low cards to a wheel/flush are playable. Random high paint with dead low cards is often trash.

Watch upcards: if your key low cards are dead in other players' doors, your low equity shrinks.
